It has been a week, y’all. Woo.
First, my in-laws were visiting for Easter. Usually we don’t really do anything, and this year, being that I’m 8 months pregnant, we kept it very low key. Grandma and Grandpa set up an Easter egg hunt for the boys to wake up to. When they woke up, they were thrilled! Milo was a beast and found so many more than his big brothers. It was hilarious. Then, since we were up earlier than anticipated, we hit an earlier Easter mass, which was still so crowded!
After mass, Gordon and I took a long drive in his corvette because the weather was so gorgeous! Then, while his parents took a turn, Gordon, the boys, and I made brunch. Gordon made Hawaiian bread French toast and sunny side up eggs, and the boys and I made bacon and sausage. It was delicious, and there was plenty of food for snacking later. After brunch, we spent the afternoon outside enjoying the glorious weather. Eventually, I even pulled out the sprinklers for the boys to run through.
The rest of the week was a blur of hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. The boys love having visitors, but especially their grandparents because they can do no wrong.
Wednesday, Gordon and I had a date night that we’d been planning since February. You see, for Valentine’s Day, I got Gordon a groupon for an escape room. Unfortunately, when I tried to book a night, there weren’t any openings. Until April! So, I booked us in for the first availability. Then, a few weeks ago, began contacting our babysitters. None were available, but luckily my in-laws wanted to visit, and volunteered to watch the boys. The escape room was witch-themed, and it was a lot of fun. Just us and another couple trying to find clues to get ourselves out. I was the one who found the final clue and got us out. Go me!
Thursday was Milo’s second birthday. I don’t know how that happened. I feel like it was only yesterday that I was calling the OB on duty to ask if I should head to the hospital because my contractions were getting closer together and I couldn’t walk through them. Now, he’s a two year old daredevil! Time passes too quickly. Since we knew Grandma and Grandpa wouldn’t be her for his birthday, we celebrated on Tuesday with a pizza dinner and cake. For his actual birthday, I made the food he wanted for dinner: chicken nuggets and mac & cheese, and we had a small ice cream cake for dessert. It was perfectly Milo.
Today, we took the boys to see the new Beauty and the Beast, and while they’re still a bit young to sit still for a two-hour movie, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. There was just too much singing in my opinion, honestly. Otherwise, it was a good adaptation.
What did you think? Did you see the new Beauty and the Beast? Did you like it or no?
